New Easter-Themed Sets

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

LEGO have given us two brand new seasonal sets in time for Easter!

These new themed sets are polybagged and are adorable!

The first of the two is the Duck with Ducklings, which features a white mother duck and her tiny ducklings, three of which are yellow, the other is beige (this is me just speculating, but a possible reference to the ugly duckling?).

The second of the two sets is the Bunny and Chick, which allows you to build a small yellow chick hatching out of a LEGO egg and a little white bunny in a pen.

Both of these sets will make the perfect Easter gifts for fans of LEGO of all ages!

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

New to the LEGO Kingdoms theme is the fantastic Kingdoms Joust!

This set includes a phenomenal amount of detail, from the six roomed castle to the jousting arena. The castle features an archway between the two towers, and includes linked wall extensions off the main structure. The rooftops of the towers are a brilliant red and the lattice windows are a nice touch.

The royal viewing box includes a lion shield on the front and is perfect for the King and Queen minifigures to view the joust.

There are a total of nine minifigures in this set: King, Queen, Princess, Lion Knight, Falcon Knight, Young Squire, Nobleman and two Soldiers. Each Knight’s horse and beautifully detailed, with the decoration of the corresponding Knight. Armoured headgear is also included for each Knight.

This charming set will make a wonderful addition to your LEGO Kingdoms collection.

Forest Police Station

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

There have been various sets released to the LEGO City theme recently. The one that I think really stands out is the Forest Police Station.

This spectacular building is wonderfully detailed and includes features like a watch tower, a satellite dish on top of the main building and a safe for those minifigures to store any belongings safely. Also included is a helicopter, which is perfect for finding those pesky robbers on their quad bike and a police van to capture them.

Five minifigures are in this set: two forest policemen, two robbers and a pilot for the helicopter. Also there is a bear animal figure included.

This set would make a wonderful forest-themed addition to any LEGO City collection.

Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane?…

….No, it’s the brand new Super Heroes theme from LEGO!

This theme includes many heroes and villains from DC comics, so this theme would be ideal for a DC Universe fan. Batman, Superman, The Joker and Green Lantern are all featured in the new sets.

There are currently nine sets in the Super Heroes theme, with others potentially in the pipeline for future release.

The set that really stands out to me is The Batcave. This set features plenty of detail, including computer screens, flick-fire missiles and lots of accessories needed for Batman to catch Poison Ivy and Bane. Handcuffs, binoculars and of course, Batarangs are all necessary for capture.

Other sets included in the Super Heroes theme are Batman, The Joker and The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape.
