Friends – Brand New Theme

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

LEGO themes geared towards young girls have never really taken off, that is before now.

Friends is a brand new theme targeted at young girls and has had a major overhaul since themes such as Belville to appeal to their audience. This latest theme appears to have a lot more promise than previous attempts to reach the young female market.

Friends focuses on different locations, such as cafés, tree houses and vets, and feature a wide range of accessories to play with. The new sets need to be built, just as you would with any other LEGO set, but feature new brick colours, such as lavender, medium azure, and aqua. Each set includes full instructions on how to build it.

There are currently 23 confirmed sets, including City Park Café, Heartlake Vet and Olivia’s Tree House.

Dinosaurs have always been pretty impressive. Now you can get them in LEGO form in the new theme, LEGO Dino!

LEGO Dino features minifigure heroes and moulded dinosaur figures in each set. The dinosaurs are similar to the figures used in the Dino Attack theme, but have been updated to look more realistic. LEGO have done a fantastic job of making the dinosaurs look fearsome, yet pretty cool at the same time.

There are currently seven sets in the theme, the biggest of them all being Dino Defense HQ. This set features the main headquarters of the heroes, complete with communications centre, laboratory and tranquiliser refilling station. The Dino Defense HQ includes four hero minifigures and three dinos (T-Rex, Raptor and Coelophysis).
