This is a GREAT set… we just bought it for our 7 yr old from the Lego store in Downtown Disney where you would expect a high markup. BUT it was not on sale, it was regular price and that price was $16.95… so WHY is Dreaming Tree LLC selling it for $34.95… ALMOST DOUBLE THE PRICE?!?!?! Avoid them… go buy direct from the Lego store (or from a REASONABLE Amazon seller). Sure they have the right to make a profit but they are just totally price gouging parents searching for Christmas gifts. What a racket.
Sorry guys… the set is worth up to about $20 bucks… not worth your $35 price tag. It just isn’t. Your kids won’t get that much value from it.

This is a great project and can be used with all other Legos. My son collects Lego figures and can use this to take them places. The price is waaay cheaper at Fred Meyer – only $20.

What a cute set this is and so affordable! I purchased this as a supplement to the City Corner Set. This way my daughter, age 10, can have her mini figures go on a vacation. While this set is very tiny and easy to build, there are so many things to do with it. I did not know that it came with 3 minifigures but this makes the set alone worth it (1 male and 2 females). There is a bike which is a unique piece in the Lego World. The camper transforms into a bed and a place to unwind.
Even if you do not get the other City sets this is a unique set that is totally affordable. Originally, I was put off my the City Sets since they seemed geared for boys who loved cars, trucks, and trains that this was an interesting twist in the series. I am glad that Lego is deciding to branch out to captivate girls’ interests and to develop toys that are more related to real life. This set in addition to the City Corner makes a great gift!

I thought I might give the Lego camper to a 4 year old – but kept thinking about putting it together myself instead. I finally broke down and put it together
I am so glad I did. It was so much fun that I think I might try something harder like Falling Water. The camper is fun to put together, and would be great fun to play with.

This toy was in great demand prior to Xmas and as usual, Amazon could supply it at the correct price when at the time everyone were inflating their price. Well done Amazon.

Bought this as a xmas prezzie for my partners father who has an actual sized camper van – he loves it!

Lots of fun to put together, little ones (3 & 4) needed help but it was fun. Very cool when done – outdoor items click onto the roof, camper opens up and the kids loved putting the fish places, the little kid up on the bunk bed, etc. Great gift!

This toy belongs to the age old Lego which has provided hours of fun for generations. Fairly easy to construct and provides hours of fun for both children and adults alike! Due to its nature it allows both parent and child to interact with fun time.

Bought for my daughter for christmas to go with a lego house.
Was really easy to assemble, the instructions were very easy to follow.
She loves playing with it, hours of fun.

The toy is fine, it seem’s to be what the kid’s want, however the manufacturer appear’s not to
understand their own product anymore: Where once lego was one of the best educational toy’s,
this no longer seems to be the case. Just another toy!

Nice set. Very cute. My son loves looking at it. Like previous sets he has, he doesn’t know what to do once it is built. He just leaves it for a decoration. This is a nice size. Doors open. Bike is cute. Inside of camper is fun.

My 7-year-old daughter received this for Christmas and she was so excited. I purchase it along with the Lego’s Sports car and it pairs up with the City Corner very nicelyLEGO Sports Car. It does require patience to put together-something that an older child may have. I’ve rated it four stars because like most Lego projects on wheels, they can come disassembled while playing with. It was a reasonable price and she’s still playing with it. She did mention to me that having additional Lego’s people would make it more fun.

I was told that this was to difficult for a five year old. It woild be better for a kis that is 7 or older.

Bought this for my 5 year old son, previously we have gone for Power miners or Atlantis, which he has enjoyed playing with but they soon get modified or smashed up in a killer shark or Rock monster attack! but the Camper van seems to have captured his imagination!! It may be the sun outside but now he’s all talk about holidays in the camper van, cooking fish on a BBQ and surfing…
It’s well made and offers several ways of play (Static opened up, bed time and mobile). A natty little lock disguised as a light keeps the back end in check when in the country lanes. Good value for just over a tenner.
I just haven’t figured out why the woman is driving all the time yet though? Perhaps it’s because the man cooks the fish better in the back?? ;o) hehe…. Hey, he plays with it not me!!

Billy my 4 year old son, loved this. Play with it all day. A little on the hard side for him to build. but with an adult’s help should be OK. Any way I had fun building it!

My daughter was lucky enough to get this lego set for her birthday from Granny. She has just turned 6 and is a bit of a lego fan already, this set is part of the “City” range. As you can see from the photo it is a cute item with 2 people and a number of play elements – a bbq with a fish – strange but sweet, a surfboard and also the ability to be opened up so that your little people can go to sleep or sit down on one of the three little seats.
The first thing to say about this van is that it is a lot smaller when built than it looks on the box. It is 14cm long and 7 and half cm tall and barely 5cm across. Actually for me this is quite a good thing as it doesn’t take up too much space, and it is nicely detailed as I shall explain, however that photo is really deceptive.
Construction:
The set comes in two bags, cunningly numbered “1″ and “2″, with step by step instructions in booklet form (if lost these can be downloaded from the lego site these days). You build the chassis first and then the top, which is a good idea as it makes hunting for pieces less of an ordeal if you don’t mix up the bags, and also you don’t have to build the whole thing at once.
The age range from lego is 5-12; I think a 5 year old could manage with help, I’m not sure that the 12 year olds I know would really be interested in this, it does seem aimed at a younger market being a van that can be played with after building. There are 165 pieces in all – which sounds a lot, but as some of them are single blocks and quite tiny, isn’t in fact excessive and certainly not enough to put off a new lego-builder.
It took my daughter somewhere between half an hour and a hour to build this van, the instructions were clear and there were not too many fiddly bits, though she did struggle to put the wheels onto the bike, and also needed some help with the stickers for the number plate and logos on the roof. You can’t deviate from the instructions really, which is a bit limiting, but I did find that this didn’t seem to worry my daughter who was keen to make the van.
Finished item and play value:
Once complete, as mentioned the van is pretty compact. The construction of it is solid; it is cleverly designed to that you can take off a small retaining hinge on the back and open it up to see inside, the whole thing swings easily on two hinges.
There’s a hidden sleeping area for your little people, a mug and saucepan attached to the walls, this is a bijou but very sweet camper van. We have found that the camper van does stand up to being wheeled along the floor by an enthusiastic younger sibling, the people do fit nicely onto the bicycle and when you are playing with it no bits fall off, which has not been the case with other sets we have had. The little people will also hold the accessories included quite nicely, I think the little mug is my favourite, though it is quite small so probably doomed to be lost up the hoover one day soon!
Overall:
I like the fact that this item is suitable for girls and boys, and think that it does encourage imaginative play as your child gets the people to set off on holiday with their surfboard and other assorted items.
This camper van is definitely one of the better new sets that we have had, and although once built it can’t really be changed into anything else (the creator set models are 3 in 1 and offer more construction), it is a lovely little van. I would thoroughly recommend it as a good gift for a child of 5-8. It’s a great fun item!

This is a very nice set for the price. My just 6 year old daughter loves it! I built it with her the first time, but she could build it herself after that. There is just one hard step where you attach the hinges so the sides swing open. She has a hard time figuring out which way to put them on, so they swing properly. I would consider her an average builder. She is not interested in a lot of the Lego City sets (fire, police, etc), but this one caught her eye. A great set for a girl (or boy)!

My son received this Lego kit as a gift. He put it together without any help and unlike other sets, has left it together and still plays with it nearly a year later. The back swings out to reveal the inside play area. Very good kit, just about right for a ten year old to follow instructions and build on his or her own.

Ever since my son started getting into the Lego City sets, he’s had his eye on the Lego City Camper set. He loves the Lego sets that “do stuff” and this one does a lot. The back opens up so you can set up eating and sleeping arrangements, and there are enough accessories (surfboard, bicycle, grill, fish, mugs and frying pan) to keep the minifigure pair (a man and a woman) busy.
Complexity: This is a fairly complex set. You build the bottom half of the camper and the cab, and then the fold-out camper shell halves are assembled. My son took care of the minifigures and some of the larger pieces (windows, wheels, etc.), but I had to build the rest.
Playability: It’s a bit tricky getting the camper open, but once you do the play possibilities are endless. Between the camper configurations and copious accessories, the two vacationing minifigures (so far dubbed Mama and Dada) can have plenty of adventures.
This set was money well spent, and a great addition to our growing Lego City. I also think it makes a great gender-neutral set, more so than the fire and police sets at least.

I recently bought this product for my eight-year-old daughter. She enjoyed it very much, with the female figure being her favorite. However, please be aware that the camper will be small, but could be worse. The little features like fish, bicycle, surfboard, table and chairs, etc. extends playability. Looks nice and was easy for me to put together in little time. It stays together during normal play, so it’s durable enough and I am quite satisfied… I would buy again.

I love this, more relevantly, so did my son who is 9 now and utterly obsessed with Lego. It’s a cool-looking vehicle with lovely witty detail on the inside and the way it opens is great. Very quick and easy for him to build, and like all Lego endlessly adaptable. He has built a garage for it on the house he’s been working on for the past few weeks. I would definitely buy this as a present for a younger child, boy or girl, who was just getting to the age to appreciate Lego.
