This is a good little set for any Lego City and is essentially a collection of buildings and vehicles that could probably have been sold separately, particularly as each comes with its own moveable base-plate allowing you to arrange the street however you like.
What you get:
A three-storey pizza parlour with an oven, counter, seating upstairs (no actual stairs to get there and an empty attic though) and of course some pizzas. It also comes with a female chef.
A skate and bike shop with bike, skateboard, helmets, counter, street-light and a nice little Lego CCTV camera. It also comes with a shop-worker and a kid on his own decorated skateboard.
A bus and bus stop, both are nicely designed, the bus can seat six and comes with a driver (who’s dressed more like a chauffeur). The bus stop comes with another figure with a briefcase as well as a bin, some flowers and a street-light.
All in all a very nice set that fits in well with other Lego City sets, particularly the town plan (#10184). My only gripe would be the use of regular clear “building doors” on the bus which does seem odd. I’m sure that a folding version more reminiscent of those on a real bus would have been perfectly achievable.

Hooray Hooray! For the first time in ages, we have Lego City stuff thats not a Fire or Police Station. Brilliant. being the overgrown manchild that I am, I emailed Lego earlier in the year and asked them why they didn’t make more mundane City sets anymore and I was told to watch this space. Well, here we are!
First off, the bus is excellent. Has there ever been a Lego bus before? I’m not so sure there has been, but this version is excellent. It has plenty of seats, a nice colourscheme, lovely details (i like the adverts) and a cheery driver. Only some better doors would have improved this – or at least ones detailed to look like the sliding ones you get on real buses.
Next we drop off the jolly businessman at his bus stop (he must be an ethical city type, happy to mix with the hoi polloi on public transport!), which is a lovely detailed effort. I am particularly fond of the streetlamp. Yes, you may mock, but its a neat bit of engineering. there’s no timetable, suggesting this is one of those mid-point stops where you just have to turn up and hope for the best.
Just along from this we stop off at the skate shop to hang out with Grizzly Mick (probably has tatoos and plays heavy metal or – God help us -Emo in his shop), proprietor of ‘rad’ skateboards and ‘sick’ bicycles. Oh yes, I’m down with the kids – and look here’s one now on his skateboard! he’s a nice touch, but i don’t like the stumpy midget legs, it makes the figure look deformed (obviously, this is a personal thing). The shop is fairly sparse, but has the right level of detail for something its size, with a cheery sign and CCTV camera and funky window display. I do like the way the skateboard is hung for display. Lovely.
finally, after all that excitement, we go to the imaginatively titled Pizza restauruant (its called ‘Pizza’. wonder what they sell there..?). This is a lovley old-school inspired set. The three floors are modular and clipped together, with the groundfloor containing the takeaway part with superbly worked Pizza oven and paddle for handling the Pizzas – just like in a proper pizzeria! The second floor contains the restaurant, which has a couple of tables and chairs and wine glasses. Its not big on detail, but it does the job. the attic is empty, unfortunately. It would have been good to make this some kind of office/ storage area perhaps. As with the old school sets, there’s no stairwells (unlike with the highly detailed but massivley expensive Greengrocer’s / Cafe Corner sets) so its down to your imagination to work out how the folk get upstairs, but frankly, that didn’t bother me then and it doesn’t now. The place is run by Brenda, who seems not to care that she should perhaps be wearing a hairnet so she doesn’t get her hair in people’s food. i’d watch out if I were eating there!
This is a smashing little set with loads of play value. It could have been improved with the addition of maybe two more minfigures, but decorated with the smaller City Mini-figures set, this really looks great. Hopefully, this will do enough business to allow further non-emergency service sets to be released and perhaps as individual pieces, rather than as a huge box set of mulitple items.

This is a great set for kids who love building cities. It has a bit of everything, and the bus is very cool. I got it Target for $59, and it has been sold there for months, always in stock, and at this price. Please just go buy it there, people are trying to rip you off here!

I was leary to spend the money on this Lego product because I thought it would be too difficult to assemble. I was also worried that it would not stay together once built which would cause my 7 yr old much frustration, hence I would be re-building it over and over again. On the contrary, my son built it himself and has kept it assembled. He has dropped the bus a few times and I have had to fix it but I found if you push the pieces together tightly while building it it will stay together longer. I find my son doesn’t push the bricks together tightly when building and I think some of that is due to his hand strength vs an adults. I would recommend the product.

This price is very elevated right now. I hope it because it is right after Christmas as I am writing this and unfortunately some people over charge at Christmas, hopefully it will come down from $98. My 7 year old received this for Christmas. He was into trains, but now he is really into Lego’s. He is in the process of creating a “Lego City” on his old train table. This set is a great addition. It is so detailed. The pizza shop has actual booths and tables where you can let the people sit. Also it comes with 5 lego people. The Bike shop is also very detailed, There are bike helments on display in the shop. The buss has seats in it and you can let the people actually ride inside the bus. I would buy this again as a gift and I definetly reccommed it. Sure, Lego’s can be messy, but they are only young once and Lego’s allow for creativity and imagitive play, which is better than video games.

I bought this for my daughter who is building a Lego town. She really found it easy to build, except for the bus which was a little tricky. It is fun to sit the people in the pizza parlor at tables. Also, you can get the pizza lady to put a pizza in a little oven with a door that opens. On the second floor of the pizza parlor there are windows that open. There is a skate shop that sells skateboards and hats. It comes with a guy that has a helmet and skateboard, so you can ride him around the city. The bus stop has a bench area that people can sit on especially a little business man guy. The detail in this set is impressive. Lego has come a long way since I was a kid.

My 8 year old was kind of into LEGOS so long as he had assistance, but this kit inspired him to work solo. He loved creating each structure and is eager to build more parts of Lego City! Love how each building or bus is in its own bag – makes for quick play. The directions were easy for my son to do on his own. He is HOOKED.

Purchased this for my 8 year old daughter’s birthday. Had trouble getting hold of it from Argos etc. but you can always count on Amazon! Great set of lego with lots of figures. It was about the only lego set (apart from the house) that was geared towards both boys and girls. She has spent hours playing with it and rebuilding it. Great purchase at a great price. Would highly recommend this lego set.

We purchased this for my son’s birthday. He put it together with some parental assistance and has played with it quite a bit. It goes well with the other Lego City products.

After reading the other reviews here, my wife and I decided that the Lego City Corner would be the perfect larger size playset for our 4-year old son, a budding Lego enthusiast. The City Corner features a 3-story pizzeria (complete with oven, tiny wine glasses and pizzas), a bike and skateboard shop, a bus stop, a city bus and five minifigures.
Complexity: There are close to 500 pieces in this set, so it was by far the largest project we’ve attempted. Still, Lego’s clear instructions and the fact that each major section’s pieces were separately bagged made assembly a breeze. My son is still too young to really work the smaller pieces, but he built many of the larger elements, such as walls, windows, roofs and doors, and of course the minifigures are his domain. All told, it took about 90 minutes to complete.
Playability: This is by far my son’s favorite Lego set. He’s already spent hours with it, assigning names and roles to the figures, loading and unloading them from the bus, and arranging dinners at the pizzeria. Once we brought the City Corner together with his other Lego City vehicles, he had an even better time. It’s an almost frustration-free set as well.
The Lego City Corner isn’t cheap, but it is worth every penny. It’s the perfect “next step” for kids who are ready to go beyond just the Lego vehicles, and it’s also just a lot of fun to put together and play with.

The bus is pretty cool. Stays together very well. A great place to put his other Lego men. The details like the bus bench, fire hydrant and the pizzaria make this a realistic set. Goes well with other Lego City products. Buy it just for the bus alone. My 9 year old son enjoys this set very much. Arrived on time from Amazon with no problems.

I gave this to my daughter for her 9th birthday – she has inherited many. many legos (from her two older brothers as well as from what I grew up with!) and while she is very creative in creating her own schools, spas, zoos, etc. she also has loved some of the sets. She had built her own “school bus”, but she was thrilled to have a “real” bus and especially getting a “girl” (from the pizzeria) was HUGE – as well as she loved getting another skateboarder and TWO skateboards – she had an old one from her brothers, and has always wanted another. I was shocked at how quickly she put it all together – very well broken down into separate packaging – no frustration at all – now she wants the Fire truck set!
