Our hero Clutch Powers has his hands full keeping his minions (including some zany ones) together in this epic battle of the good guys versus the bad guys. The story line is well-crafted and interlaced with really neat kid-like humor, fun interplay between the characters, many heart-stopping challenges confronted and overcome, and exciting, fast-paced action. Kids will love it.LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers

The kids absolutely loved it. Huge grins on their faces the whole time.
Fantastic stuff. My wife and I enjoyed it as well. Good clean LEGO fun.
My eldest (6 yrs.) now describes yesterday as “The day Clutch Powers came out…”
A new LEGO legend may have just been born. Highly recommended.

I have two boys 4 and 6 who are, of course, HUGE Lego fanatics. We have had this for 2 days and have already watched it 4 times. My only problem with the movie is that it uses words that I dont really like for my boys to use (idiot, stupid, fool) and I just don’t think it’s necessary to include these words in kids movies. There was also some mild “romantic humor” which I could have done without, but really not a big deal.
However, either way, I think it’s great to have a full length Lego movie and the whole family enjoyed it. The animation is wonderful, there are alot of silly and cute jokes that made us all laugh, and they did a great job at weaving together all the different Lego products/lines into one cohesive story. It has also given my kids alot of new ideas for how to act out stories with their Legos!

Older brickheads and young Lego enthusiasts alike will have a blast with this highly enjoyable LEGO adventure on DVD. My son had a grand time spotting his toys amongst the action of the overall superb animation (especially the backgrounds). The story is fun and jumps around the LEGO universe in a ridiculous fashion, the humour is overall perfect for the age group this is aimed at and fun for those still young at heart. The feature presentation is well worth the admission price but for another awesome experience check out the 6 min stop motion Space Police mini movies in the extras it is really cool and fun to watch the actual toys come to life in a way that my son and I have attempted on our own with the PS3s eye movie software. The kiddies are gonna hit the repeat button on this one, a must buy for the brick clicker in your house.

As good as Bionicle: Legend Reborn by the same creative team. These guys really know how to make a fast paced, interesting, kid friendly film. The students at my school were all a buzz about it. These 1st and 2nd graders have already watched it about 4 or 5 times and it’s only been out since Tuesday. Hey Lego! you’ve got a good thing going with this team. Thanks

Awesome movie… my kids 8 and 5 were captivated by it. And, they played along and had a blast. Truly recommend and cannot wait until any more come out!

Clutch is all the badness of Indiana Jones and Batman rolled into a flawless Lego superhero that men wish they were and women wish they could be with. I got this thinking since my son loves the Lego PS2/NinDS series of games (especially Indy Jones/Star Wars), he may dig it.
He’s been watching Indiana Jones on repeat for months now. He knows the intro to Temple of Doom by heart (I think he has a crush on Willie). So at first he was hesitant, but after watching it once, it had begun to take hold.
When he runs around and does something that he feels is particularly awesome, he starts humming Indiana Jones. Now, the action music to Clutch occupies equal time in his mind as a soundtrack.
There’s a ton of one liners (“Rock monsters!? Why does it always have to be rock monsters!?”) that the kids will be repeating and the movie is all about teamwork. If LEGO is smart, they’ll market the heck out of this because at this point my son would die for Clutch Powers bedspreads, lamp covers, posters, etc.
As a parent I love it. He’s NEVER reacted to any animated 3-d movie like this. I can’t get him to watch a single one (Surfs up, Ice Age, Cars, they have no interest to him). But he LOVES Clutch. I hope there’s many more movies coming because we’ll have every one in our collection. 5 stars all day long.
Well, I guess I do have reason to complain about one thing. I’ve spent over $100 so far amassing a collection of Lego blocks for him now. He wants nothing but Legos. As a software developer, I guess I can do nothing but encourage this budding interest in engineering

My 7-year-old son watched this movie, then we bought it as birthday gift for a friend of his who just turned 8 years old. Both boys are “LEGO-crazy” and really liked it. The other mom reports her son has watched his DVD multiple times already. I thought it was tolerable to sit watch this movie with my son, but I based the rating on what the kids thought.

We love this movie! It’s totally kid friendly, and there’s enough clever humor to keep the adults happy when listening to it from the front seat while they watch it repeatedly in the back! Thanks, Lego!

My son ran across this DVD while on vacation for Spring Break. As a lego lover, he begged for it. I had never heard of it, but decided to give it a shot. He LOVES it and watches it over and over! Great addition for his traveling library.

I purchased this movie for my son’s 7th Birthday. He loves it and his 4 year old sister enjoys it too. The perfect gift for any Lego fan! Very happy with this buy, would definitely recommend.

Not a potential classic, but a fun film for kids nevertheless. My 6y/o son loved it.

After so many hours enjoying the Lego games and the funny gestures and actions by the characters we were all very entertained by the movie. Good story, funny characters and G-Rated but not lame, it was a great addition to my kid’s love of Lego’s.

Our kids, ages 4 to 8, really enjoyed this movie. The teamwork messaging is great, however, there are a few lines that I wish they had left out in addition to the belching. There were a few “scarry” parts that went over better on the second viewing. Overall, it’s a fun movie that works the Lego building theme throughout. Quality is great.

My 5 year-old son loves legos and plays with them all the time. This movie was perfect for him. He recognized a bunch of the kits/pieces (Power Miners). And he was excited for the new stuff too. There is just enough of a story to follow, and plenty of action. He’s watched the movie 3-4 times, and could watch it a bunch more.

That’s how our 5 year old rated this movie. Long story short: We came to realize that he gets nervous when he finds a character is in danger. Like when Clutch is dealing with the rock monster, or later when Clutch encounters the goblin (who gobbles him up), or when the Lego-team is battling the wizard. He’s not particular fond of fire-spewing dragons either. Perhaps he’s still a bit too young to watch this movie alone.
In spite all this he still likes this movie a lot. While nervous, he still laughs through the “scary” parts. He loves the skeletons, especially two silly ones, and the black one on the horse at the end. But he only watches the movie if I, or his mom, or elder sisters watches it with him.
I do find it indeed a nice and fun movie for kids. As reviewer Leah (mom of 2), pointed out in her review, there are some lines and words used in it, that I also could have lived without (especially for 4 or 5 year olds). But not real big deal. It’s also full of action. It’s fun. I’m thinking older then 5 year kids may like this movie more, but if watch with parents the very young ones (4 and 5 year) will also still like it a lot.
Since our 5 year old is a bit scared by it, I feel I can’t rate 5 stars, but since he still likes it a lot, I rate it 4 stars.
Tip: It might be handy to have some Lego around, when kids watch this movie. Our son is not a particular Lego kid. Does play with Lego from time to time, but I would not say it’s his favorite toy. But this movie is always an inspiration to play with Lego after watching it.
Thnks for reading.
Ps. I’m actually very surprised this is the first Lego movie. I mean, I know they have several Lego computer games, so I thought for sure they had already produce movies. Apparently not. I guess Playmobil beat Lego on bringing out a movie then. Sometime ago we got the Playmobil: The Secret of Pirate Island Playmobil pirates DVD for our son. He actually likes the Playmobil one very much. I guess that has to do with the Pirates theme. He’s all in to pirates lately. But it’s a fun movie too, with lots of fun and entertaining songs. He liked it a lot and wasn’t scared at any moment. He watches it alone all the time. You can read my review on it.

My kids (6 &
are obsessed with Lego’s. I purchased this as a surprise for them for an upcoming 13 hour road trip to our vacation destination. They were so excited and ended up watching it over and over, in between naps. They love it! Great movie, but a little disappointed there aren’t more for my kids to enjoy!

The Adventures of Clutch Powers has a good story and looks excellent, but what really makes it great fun for kids who love Lego is the attention to detail.
Well, I say attention to detail, you could also say product placement. Basically, the story contains scenes and characters from all of the Lego spectrum; Lego City, Power Miners, Space Police and lots of Lego Castle. There are scenes which contain identifiable sets from the Lego collection, down to the specific details. I’m surprised in some scenes they didn’t give the set numbers. My 6 year old son was shouting “I’ve got that” (to the City Police Station) and “I want that” (to the Skull Castle), and was pleased to see different recognisable mini figures throughout. And that was a big part of the fun.
The other good thing is the way the characters build their way out of problems and tricky situations. A bit like the A-Team. They have the pieces, and in some scenes they visualise the different things they could build before coming to the right decision. So that is fun as well.
The animation is good and the humour is in the style of the cut scenes from the Lego computer games (eg Star Wars, Harry Potter etc), which is good.
So all in all, I was really pleased with this because my sons loved it, and I think most children who love Lego will get a kick out of this.

Well, this is the only film that my children have ever watched over and over, they love it…5 and 7 years…and avid Lego fans! Even Daddy enjoyed watching it, all my two asked was, ‘Are there any more Lego films?’ Lego you’re onto a good one here!

If your child loves Lego they will LOVE this movie.
My child has watched this SO many times and still thinks it’s great. In fact it’s the only movie I’ve seen in “kids films” that I honestly don’t mind watching again and again. It is really quite funny too.
FAB

If you own any of the Lego games you’ll know what to expect of this movie. It has the Lego twisted sensibility and style in a full length feature which is rich and imaginative. Kids will love it although the plot feels somewhat like someone took 10 random lego sets off the shelf and tried to join them together into a story. One minute its Indiana Jones – lite, the next space adventure, the next medieval wizards. One odd thing is that Clutch has a Lego patch on his arm which superficially looks like a Nazi armband. Notice the DVD box art? Yep, it’s missing. I reckon somebody realised too late of the similarity and so it it remains, just not on the boxart. I doubt the kids will notice.

I bought this with the inevitably rainy summer holidays in mind. I have grandsons aged 6 and 4 and they both enjoyed this film. The older boy found it funny, the younger one just enjoyed seeing all the Lego! They particularly enjoyed the castle scenes with the evil wizard, troll warrior, skeletons etc.
I found the ‘message’ about everyone helping each other in order to solve problems a bit heavy-handed and I agree with other comments about the advertising via product placement and the trailers for Legoland – but that’s looking at a children’s film through cynical adult eyes, I suppose! All-in-all, a good buy.

I thought this was a great film, the fact that its all done with Lego is clever. Kiddies would love it for its simple storyline, I loved it as an adult for the creativity of effects. Very enjoyable

This film is a spectacular thrill-ride of horror,sci-fi, adventure, action, romantic, comedy delight!
It stars Clutch Powers, thats right, THE Clutch Powers.
ADVENTURER EXTRAORDINAIRE!
Along his side in this journey he will be joined by the beautiful, alluring Peg Mooring. The goofy, hip young Bernie von Beam. And the tough bad-a** firefighter, Brick Masterson.
As they track down the evil Wizard, Mallock the Malign!
Just outta prison, and looking for a sword, this baddie has plans that could devastate the entire universe!
Throughout this mighty adventure, Clutch deals with past father issues, Bernie and Peg form a romantic relationship, and Mallock is up to no good!
This film has it all, like I say above. Theres action, adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, romance, all into one!
I strongly recommend this film for any movie lover.
And, if you got a family, not bad for the kids to view. All around a rockin’ time!
Buy it, there must be sequels to this masterpiece!

This was bought for our 9 year old son who is a huge Lego fan but it was equally enjoyed by our 3 year old son and 5 year old daughter and us parents too. Lots of funny humour for all levels and a nice easy story line with a perfect ending to make a sequel. Well worth it, especially if your kids love those little mini Lego movies on the Lego website.

OK, it’s not Star Wars, but my boys (aged 7 and 10) watched this over and over again after I bought it as a treat to take on holiday. You’d expect Lego to produce fun family viewing, and they have. It’s a bit too American in parts, save the inevitable English accent on a baddie, but we can live with that: to be fair it’s fairly international in flavour. I don’t think I’m giving away too much if I say that the good guys triumph over the bad guys. And it was a good deal cheaper on Amazon than through Lego.

As others have pointed out, most product tie-in movies are utter rubbish – ie any Scooby Doo movie for some reason – but this is just very good, funny, fast, with a great story and great lines. I even enjoy watching this one – for what feels like the 50th time – my four year old son loves this more than anything else. A very good product.
