It’s honestly very much overpriced. It has been re-released 3 times, it started of at only £59.99 in 2000. But now it is £40 more, and still exactly the same!

But the set is still very good and enjoyable, there are hundreds of other models you can make with it, and it is generally fun.

I recommend this toy greatly, but perhaps at a lower price.

Actually, this is only the second time Lego have released a Millennium Falcon set, and this is a totally new and redesigned version, based on the ship’s appearance in The Empire Strikes Back. It has a better shape than the previous set, and a more detailed interior. Also, the first Lego Falcon was priced at £100 several years ago, so this one actually represents good value! My only word of caution would be that it seems a little complex for a nine-year-old (the suggested minimum age on the box), and I doubt it would stand up to heavy play as it’s a little delicate. Probably better for the older Star Wars / Lego fan as a display piece.

At the current price of £74.99 (24% off) this still isn’t cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but hey, it is the fastest heap of junk in the galaxy. Lego has never been value for money but I’m sure most children (and adults) who receive Lego in whatever guise treasure it as a toy. I know I did.

I’m sure most of these models will be bought for ‘nephews’ and ‘my mate’s son’ but lets be honest, the majority of the people who will buy this, put it together, play with Princess Leia and swap the heads of Chewy and C3PO will be aged over 20, so the large number of pieces (nearly 1000) and fragile nature of the triangular plates will not be an issue.

It’s much more detailed than the previous incarnation and faired better than the new x-wing, which appears to be covered in mucus.

Another well-crafted reproduction from the dependable Lego Starwars franchise: a great model penned from an amazing design. If you can afford it – buy it!

This is probably one of the best lego sets I have ever gotten. This may not be lego’s most expensive toy, but I rate it the best mainly because it has the perfect balance of two elements: playability and looks, the lego sandcrawler was an ugly set (a huge brown box resembling a mound of dirt), but it’s was fun to play with, while the collector’s edition of the x wing was all looks and no play: This has the perfect mix of both. The only problem I have with this set is it’s lack of interior detail, but if you think about it, that is the beauty of lego, you can customize the inside, (in my falcon, I modified the cockpit to have two chairs, i put a tv and a washroom in it. The huge unsued space between the cockpit and lowering deck has made for some nifty modifications too, I put a mini kitchen and two bunk beds in this part of the ship.) This is the pride and joy of lego starwars, its only competition probably being the republic gunship (it has been sadly clipped off lego’s production line, but if you have a chance I highly recommend you to try and get a used one on amazon.com or atleast look at it on some site). If you are craving for an actual fun set to build and play with, I recommend this one as a top choice.

This set is massive. Mere photographs never do justice to the scale and detail present in every Lego set, but this one is simply incredible. It took me around 3 hours to complete (building nonstop) and the finished model, totalling 985 pieces, is a full foot wide and around 15 inches long.

There are a lot of neat details in the finished model. It’s not just the boarding ramp, escape pod, cockpit, engines, decals, triangular roof plates and miniature hyperdrive that make it cool. It’s how clever the whole thing works. The circular shape, for instance, is made by connecting several dozen hinge pieces that fold around the set. They fit perfectly and the finished product is very pleasing to look at.

The quality of the model itself is what I like but the minifigures are pretty cool too. Included is Han Solo (with his little Harrison Ford smile), Princess Leia, Chewy and C3PO. As some sort of a bonus you also get a little snow trooper (of the same kind that pursued the aforementioned party as they escaped Hoth). There’s plenty of scope for playing with these little figures as the roof of the Falcon can be opened up to set all the minifigures in place.

This is a large set, but it is not particularly complex. A child as young as 8 would be able to assemble it on their own (though it may take a while) but what’s wrong with an adult helping out? This is a toy, and toys are meant for kids. It’s bulky enough that no child is likely to try testing its ability to fly. If you want a Lego model to fly around the room, there are plenty of smaller ones on offer. If you want an awesome toy for your kid, or a display piece for the kid inside you, you won’t be disappointed.

    Buy it.

I am a 7-year-old. I love legos and I love Star Wars and I was really excited about this. But then when I was done, it was very very weak. So I put it on my mom’s shelf and every time I picked it up it got weak again. So we took it all apart and built it again, but that time I ended up screaming and crying because part of the bottom wasn’t strong enough and the front things began to break apart, so it cracked in half and I gave up. But I’m going to try to build it again because I want to glue it.

I am 18 and recieved this set for Christmas.. Believe me.. this is not a fragile toy if built correctly.. although i don’t really approve of the way The Lego Company decided to attach the forward and rear ’round’ segments.

As for landing gear, yes, they are fragile indeed. but if you have big hands like I do, you should have NO problem getting them back on. All I do is hold the whole bottom of the ship, with the grey section (IMO: the center weight) in the bottom of my palm.

It took me all of an hour to get this thing built and displayed. I like this one so much more then the original that Lego released. The escape pod is more… realistic? Occupants are not going to die of oxygen starvation.

It has a lot more parts then the original. I think it’s cool the way that if done correctly, you can effectivly take the whole ship and split it in two.. and if you have jedi minifigures.. you can use the space in the assembly above the boarding ramp ( the grey 6×4 plate comes off to reveal a space just big enough for 3 or 4 lightsabers)

    I love this set!

I bought this for my husband whom is a Star Wars fan. He enjoyed putting it together and keeping it on display for a few days. My kids also enjoy the challenge of putting it together with dad.

All pieces were there (unlike other large kits we’ve bought from the past). Our son was rivited to his spot while he finished it. He started when I went to work and he presented me with the finished product when I got home. Great kit!

Folks, the $500 Millenium Falcon set is a Ultimate Edition set that has over 5000 pieces. This is not the set. Go to the LEGO website to ensure you are buying what you actually want at the fair price. This price is basically theft. If you have bought this item from this seller you should contact amazon.
