Just picked up this new Lego set, which is of course a product tie-in to the new “Toy Story 3″ movie coming out. NOTE: I paid the official Lego price of [...] for it; watch carefully on Amazon to be certain you aren’t overpaying! With only 225 pieces included, I consider [...] on the high side but still fair, since it has several interesting minifigures plus a few unusual parts that many builders may not own already.
The Pizza Planet truck is a great vehicle, with the ability to shoot small pizzas out the front grill via a rubberband mechanism. You can put things in the back of the truck via the rear window or the overhead ‘hatch.’ Driver and passenger enter the normal way through movable doors. Open the front hood to load the pizzas and you’re set to go! The vehicle design is very sturdy, little ones can really play with this one once they build it.
The minifigures include Buzz Lightyear, Rex the Dinosaur, Hamm the Pig, and a Space Alien from the Pizza planet arcade claw machine. Hamm the Pig actually has a removable cork (since he is a piggybank) and you can fill him with Lego coins or other small Lego items from your own collection.
Overall an easy build, less than 30 minutes for even a littler kid I would say. Very small tots may need help. Fun and a good addition to the Lego collection!

My son received this for his 7th birthday recently, having requested the Toy Story Lego series of kits. He loved building it, although it is quite a long build for a 7-year-old (the pieces come in 4 numbered packets plus the characters). There are a few fiddly bits, but nothing he needed help with. He was ecstatic to get a Lego green alien, as well as the other figures (and the set is not remotely appealing without them, really).
There are several annoying bits.
1. Rex (the dinosaur) can only fit in, looking through the roof of the rear section, by removing the roof. When you do this, several other bits fall off so you have a bit of a repair job.
2. The main problem is the firing mechanism for shooting the pizzas out (!). The strength of the bit of elastic provided is such that the whole chassis of the truck collapses under the strain of pizza firing, almost immediately, and I spent much of the day rebuilding it when my son ran out of patience. When it works, the pizzas fire a disappointingly short distance.
Overall he still loves the toy, both construction and play. But he has found it very frustrating, since the play function is not really fit for purpose.
He also received the LEGO Toy Story 7595 Army Men on Patrol kit (small, but absolutely adored this very simple set, and plans to buy a second of the same so he has a bigger army) and LEGO Toy Story 7590 Woody and Buzz to the Rescue (his favourite, and the one I most highly recommend; the pull back action works brilliantly and the play value is even more fun than the building).

Just bought this set for the kids. We’re huge Toy Story fans and Lego fans so this set was perfect…or so we thought. First, the price is a bit high. For just 224 pieces, I’m shocked they wanted $39.99. $29.99 would have made more sense. Nonetheless, we made the purchase and were excited to put the set together. Got through bag one with no problems. Opened up bag two and noticed the pieces kept falling off as we were building. Figured this would fix itself as we continued with the build. Unfortunately, it didn’t. I’m not sure what happened with the development of this truck, but it’s structurally inferior to all the other sets we’ve built in the past. The whole truck sits on super tiny base. It kept falling apart as we were building it! My kids gave up and asked me to finish the truck. After snapping everything into place, the truck felt more solid. But once the kids started to play with it, it fell apart again. My kids are very gentle with their toys! After rebuilding it 3 times and having it fall apart within 5 minutes of play each time, the kids and I gave up. We were so upset and frustrated! Despite how very much we love the idea of the set, we returned it as a defective item! If you’re planning to purchase this item as a toy for your child, forget about it and save yourself much grief. If you plan on just building and displaying it, then by all means go for it.

Hard time finding item until I found on Amazon. Piazza Truck was a lot of fun to play with but my grandson kept trying to get it away from me…I’m bigger. Truck is durable and has enough moving parts to give my grandson and I help with our motor skills.

Bought it for my 7 year old grandson and he managed it ok, although it took a while for him to fix together but he did it himself. He loves it and it is quite durable. It is only quite small and I think it is expensive. Not sure whether a 12 year old would appreciate it; it is more for a 7 year old i think, but only for someone who is used to Lego and loves putting things together.
